Perfect Networking for EASO
For over 20 years, Freestyle Internet has supported the European Association for the Study of Obesity (EASO), the leading voice of obesity science, medicine, and community in Europe.
EASO represents multiple stakeholder groups, including scientists, obesity specialists, physicians, healthcare practitioners, public health practitioners, and patients. However, these groups often communicated in a different and sometimes archaic manner, with some stakeholders unable to access information contained in software such as MS SharePoint.
I have worked with Chris for over 10 years on various projects and websites. To address this issue, EASO engaged Freestyle Internet to develop a Private Professional Network that contains over 20 interest groups, allowing stakeholders to participate in all relevant groups from within a single site. The site further improves communication with integrated project management features for several groups, along with broadcast newsletter functionality.
To ensure that sensitive or executive topics under discussion are restricted to a limited number of people, access restrictions have been implemented. This ensures that content is only available to those who should have access, with some groups completely hidden and on an invite-only basis. Other stakeholders need to apply for access, ensuring that the content is secure and relevant.
EASO now have a communication channel in place that they have full control over, allowing them to open this up up to all of the stakeholders they need to.
